Portland Children's Museum

While in PDX this past weekend, visiting friends who are welcoming twins in Jan, we visited the Children's Museum.  TT and Roobs were huge fans.  Spendy though, I'm used to not having to pay admission for them but here is a place where I think I should not have to pay admission for me.

Nemo Break

Wednesdays are long days for all so I allowed the toddlers to take a Nemo Break in the evening.  It lasted about 10 minutes. the 1-year-olds have the attention span of gnats when it comes to TV and the almost 2-year-old found the movie to be too scary. They certainly were cute all cuddled up under their blankie though.

Sometimes in Life...

...a snaggle tooth just needs a good cry
...life's just hard when you're a baby
...you gotta climb on your sister and when she complains, you complain louder

Family Day in Seattle

The day started out sweetly enough.  We bring the babes in our bed for their bottle every morning, sometimes they fall asleep.  I was on watch when I spotted this sweet moment.  It sorta looks like she's clawing at his eye but she was stroking his face in her sleep.
We hit Top Ten Toys in Greenwood, it's seriously the most amazing toy store I've ever been to.  We were shopping for our friends the Duddy's twins who are due in January.  Ruby discovered this cool thingamabobby, I think she needs one for Xmas.
Next we were onto the Barking Dog Alehouse in Greenwood.  These guys are getting to the age where it is going to be hard to take them to restaurants.  TT did pretty well, stayed in his seat.  Roobs, not so much.  Here's my chubba.
We nachoed.  Yep, it's a verb.

We also stopped to pick up the new and final Harry Potter film on DVD.  I'm off to watch it.
Ciao

Busted

Roobs can climb up on a chair unassisted now, this is one of those milestones that make moms crazy.  I want her to explore but I have to make sure she's safe.  So far, I've prevented her from climbing on the table or desk but the moment I turn my back...
Turns out I was the same kid.  My mom lovingly told me today that I deserve it.  Thanks Mom!

Sometimes in Life

Sometimes in life hard work deserves a cold brew!

2nd Use

The hubby and I went to our favorite salvage store in South Seattle yesterday and I found these gorgeous vintage desks. Someday when I don't live in a shoebox, these could make some nifty end tables and of course be good study buddies for the munchkins.

I got my scrunchy back

Roobs was really sick on Halloween. She had pink eye and the croup. One scary visit to the emergency room later, she's doing much better. She's happy, smiley and got her scrunch face back.

Kick in the pants

I need to get off my butt. That can be hard sometimes when I'm chasing 2 one year olds around most of the day, then when they are napping, I feel like I have to be so quiet I can't even do the dishes. It makes it difficult to pick up my guitar, which I haven't done nearly enough lately. Sometimes I'll start a project only to be called away by a needy, crying or snuggly munchkin. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing I'd rather do than tend to the munchkins but nonetheless, I need to get off my butt and do something for me, something inspiring, something besides catch up on the latest episode of Fringe or Sons of Anarchy. So, I'm starting a blog. It's an outlet. No one may read it, but that's ok cause it's for me.
My posts will prolly be mostly about the aforementioned munchkins because they are the Sun that my Earth rotates around. Tanner (or TT), my first born is a crazy, snaggle-toothed lover boy. He loves to give kisses, the wide open mouthed kind. He loves to laugh, the wide open mouthed kind. He loves his sister, I think he may want to eat her. He loves his papa, a lot. They have a special bond that includes listening to very loud music together.
Ruby (Roobs) is a scrunch faced, kissable sweetheart. She has been going through a mama phase since she was about 3 months old, she loves her papa and brother of course but spends most of her waking minutes in my arms cause it's just her favorite place to be.

These babies were a long time coming for their dad and I. We have been together for 15 years, married for 9 and both of us have always wanted kids. We are so glad they are finally here.
